I created engaging social media content for Guinness in Turkey, all while dealing with strict government regulations that banned alcohol advertising since 2013.
After the 2013 ban on alcohol advertising, the law was expanded and the use of brand names was also banned.
All brands started using nicknames for their products. So we decided to use the name “BlackIsGreatness” for Guinness. Keeping the brand font and color and the iconic bottle, we continued to tell our story.

The challenge? We couldn’t show the Guinness logo, alcohol, or even glasses. We were working in a "black market", but we had to keep the brand identity strong and still connect with the audience creatively, even without the usual visuals or branding.
We started to use all our visuals in black & white. We used negative and positive spaces. We started to produce graphic visuals and illustrations reminding us of the beer bottle.
